Farmers Markets, Food Banks, and Fundraising, Oh My!

Summer is finally here, and we couldn’t be more excited about it! As we reflect on a great school year of successful and exciting fundraisers, we’re grateful for all the hard working volunteers who supported their schools, soccer teams, gymnastic clubs, dance programs, and so much more!

While fundraisers may slow down for a couple of months as summer break kicks into high gear, we wanted to share some tips for those who may still have an upcoming fundraiser or anyone who might be already thinking of their fall fundraisers!

For most of us, summer signals the return of farmers markets and fresh produce! At Indeygo, we love a great farmers market. A day at the farmers market can be the perfect family outing that has a little something for everyone, and it doesn’t get much fresher than buying your produce right from the farmers hands. If you’re unsure of where the nearest farmers market is, be sure to check out this link

So, what better way to support local farmers by creating a fundraiser selling harvest bundles that feature local produce? Not only are you supporting local,  you’re also creating an opportunity for families to connect through high-quality, locally grown food and supporting your local food bank.

Indeygo has you covered for your next Harvest Bundle Fundraiser!

Every fall, we partner with Erdmann’s Gardens & Greenhouses to put together amazing bundles of fresh produce to create the perfect “Fresh from the Farm” vegetable fundraiser! Erdmann’s Gardens & Greenhouses is family owned and operated farm in Westlock County, Alberta that grows a wide variety of fresh, locally grown, and sustainably farmed produce.

Our veggie bundles have great profit margins at 33% profit! This fundraiser also offers the Giving Back Food Bank Option which provides an option for schools and groups to give back by providing fresh produce to their local food banks! Since the inception of the Giving Back Food Bank program, schools in Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Canmore have donated over 30,000 lbs. of fresh produce to local food banks!

Indeygo’s Harvest Bundle Fundraisers are available to schools and groups during the fall months in the Edmonton, Calgary, and Red Deer areas. Schools and groups typically fundraise during the last two weeks of September can look forward to the delivery of fresh produce during the first half of October (dependent on harvest time).

If you just can’t wait until the fall to try some of Erdmann’s Gardens & Greenhouses fresh produce, you can find them at various farmers markets around the Edmonton area or go right to the source and visit their farm

Of course, you don’t have to wait until the fall to support local food banks!

With the soaring prices of groceries and fuel, food banks are also seeing a higher demand for support from community members while battling higher operational costs. Finding your local food bank and finding out how you and your family can help is a great way to keep kids occupied during the summer! Supporting your local food bank doesn’t have to be a hit on your wallet either – volunteer tasks like sorting, preparing, and hosting food pick ups can be a huge help. Check out this link to find the food bank closest to you!

If you are still in full swing with fundraising efforts, don’t worry – Indeygo has got you covered!
